The Hybrid is already a phenomenal power generator. They are far more advanced and higher quality than any home generator: They are quieter, cleaner, long lasting, far more efficient, and lower maintenance. Take the Toyota start-stop technology; it only runs the engine [generator] when the battery gets too low and only until it is recharged. That's good for big savings on fuel. And longer intervals between refills.

Does your Hybrid car always start? Indeed it does. It's used all the time. But, not so for most generators. You'd have to put alot of time and/or money into keeping a generator ready for emergences. Now let's talk about noise and exhaust. Generators are so loud they keep you and your neighbors distracted and awake. And the exhaust is odorous and dirty.
